— James 1:5, the verse that sent a young Joseph Smith into the grove
A research companion for Latter-day Saint scripture, doctrine and history, with every citation checked against the standard works.
Teaching or speaking this Sunday?
Get a Come, Follow Me lesson for adults, youth, Primary or your family, or help preparing a sacrament meeting talk: verified scriptures and an outline for your own words. Built on scripture, every citation checked, and ready to print.
Every answer is checked against the record
Most AI tools sound confident and cite things that don't exist. Nephite Atlas shows you which references hold up.
Search the record
Library questions search the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, Pearl of Great Price and the Bible, plus curated notes on Church history. Deep Research also reads vetted sites: churchofjesuschrist.org, BYU Studies, Scripture Central and FAIR.
Answer from those sources
The answer is written from the passages it found, keeping doctrine, documented history and debated questions clearly apart.
Verify every citation
Each reference is checked: does the verse exist, was it in the sources, does a quotation match the text word for word? You see the result inline.

What we hold to
Faithful
Church teachings are explained accurately and respectfully, the way the Church itself teaches them, grounded in scripture.
Honest about history
What the record documents and what is still debated are kept apart. A contested interpretation is never presented as settled fact.
Independent
An independent project, not affiliated with or endorsed by the Church. For official teaching, always go to churchofjesuschrist.org.
Simple, fair pricing

Questions
Is this an official Church product?
No. Nephite Atlas is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For official teaching, see churchofjesuschrist.org.
What does “verified” mean?
A verified citation is a real verse that was among the passages the answer was built from, or that clearly matches the claim around it. “Unconfirmed” means the verse exists but we couldn't confirm it supports the claim. “Invalid” means no such verse exists. Quotations are compared word for word against the text.
How do you handle difficult history?
For topics such as the First Vision accounts, plural marriage, the Book of Abraham or Book of Mormon geography, answers set out the Church's position and the documented record, and say plainly where historians disagree.
What's the difference between Library and Deep Research?
Library questions answer from the scripture library and our curated Church-history notes, quickly. Deep Research also searches a short list of vetted sites (churchofjesuschrist.org, BYU Studies, Scripture Central and FAIR), reads the relevant articles, and compares them with scripture, so it takes longer and links to its web sources.
Do follow-up questions count?
No. You can ask a few follow-ups on any answer without using another question. Past that, a follow-up counts like a new question of the same kind.
Do I need an account?
No. You can ask questions right away. Signing in with your email (no password) lets you see your saved answers and your plan on any device.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Cancel from your account page in two clicks, no need to contact anyone. You keep your plan until the end of the month you've paid for and you won't be charged again. Payments already made aren't refunded.
Can AI replace scripture study or prayer?
No. Nephite Atlas is a study aid. It points you to the text so you can read it yourself, and for personal questions it encourages prayer and counsel with family and local leaders.
