Nephite Atlas ("we") runs Nephite Atlas. We collect as little as we can, we never sell your information, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
What we collect
| Information | Why | How long we keep it |
|---|---|---|
| Your questions and the answers we give, saved to your account | To show you your saved answers and share links; to find and fix inaccurate answers | Until you delete them (one at a time or all at once in your account) |
| Your email address, if you sign in or subscribe | To send sign-in links, receipts and important notices about your plan | While you have an account |
| Plan and billing status (from Stripe: customer ID, plan, renewal status) | To give you the plan you paid for | While you have an account, and as long as tax law requires |
| Your network (IP) address | To prevent abuse and enforce free-trial limits | 30 days |
| Service logs (time, speed, error codes, citation checks; not your question text) | To keep the Service running and accurate | 90 days |
| Ratings you give an answer | To improve answers | 90 days |
We do not collect your name, address, phone number, location, contacts or payment card details. Stripe collects payment details directly under its own privacy policy.
Your conversations
When you ask a question, your question and our answer are recorded and saved to your account so you can find them again. They are processed on our own computers; we do not send them to outside AI companies or share them with anyone for advertising. Answers are generated by AI. We may review answers, with personal details removed, to improve accuracy, including to train our own model. If you don't want a conversation kept, delete it.
Deep Research
Deep Research searches our own copy of a short list of vetted websites. Your question is not sent to a search engine or to those websites.
Who we share information with
Only service providers that help us run the Service, under contracts that limit their use of it: Stripe (payments), our email provider (sign-in links and receipts), and Cloudflare (secure connection to the site). We may disclose information if the law requires it or to protect people from harm. We do not sell or "share" personal information for advertising, as those terms are used in U.S. state privacy laws.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie that keeps you signed in and remembers your plan. It is required for the Service to work, so there is nothing to opt out of. We do not use analytics, advertising or social-media tracking cookies or pixels.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can: see and download your saved answers (Account → Download my answers); delete them; delete your account details (Account → Delete my account); and ask us for a copy of, correction of, or deletion of any other information we hold about you by writing to [email protected]. We will answer within 30 days and won't treat you differently for using these rights. Residents of California, other U.S. states, the EU, the UK and elsewhere may have additional rights under local law, and may complain to their data-protection authority.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Connections to the site are encrypted, sign-in links are single-use and expire after 20 minutes, and access to our systems is restricted. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Changes
We will post changes here with a new date and email subscribers about material changes.
